EMERGE Report Design
Project Overview
I had the privilege of designing the EMERGE Report for HIV Ireland’s MPOWER Programme, a critical document highlighting how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the sexual health and wellbeing of gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men (gbMSM) in Ireland. The report not only sheds light on pressing health inequalities but also outlines actionable recommendations to address the evolving needs of the community.
Design Approach
For this report, I crafted custom-made, sex-positive illustrations that weave a compelling narrative. These visuals reflect the diverse experiences of the community, celebrating a wide spectrum of genders, body types, and ethnicities. The inclusive and empowering art style was paired with thoughtful layouts, ensuring the report was both visually engaging and accessible across print and digital platforms.
Key Features
Custom Illustrations: A unique set of visuals that champion inclusivity and representation.
Impactful Layouts: Clean, easy-to-navigate design to emphasize the report’s findings and recommendations.
Adaptable Design: Optimized for both print and digital media to maximize reach and accessibility.
Impact
The design aimed to transform complex data into an engaging, approachable format, making the key findings of the EMERGE report resonate with its audience. By combining storytelling and design, the report became more than just a document—it became a tool for advocacy and change.

In my professional capacity, I have undertaken a significant role in the art direction and design of national syphilis awareness campaigns, integrating impactful illustrations to effectively communicate crucial information. My commitment to public health is manifested in the meticulous design choices aimed at destigmatizing and raising awareness about syphilis. By employing strategic art direction, I ensure that the illustrations are not only visually compelling but also culturally sensitive, promoting inclusivity and understanding. Each design element is carefully crafted to convey medical information with clarity while maintaining a compassionate tone.
The use of illustrations serves as a powerful tool to engage diverse audiences and address the sensitivities surrounding syphilis, ultimately contributing to the broader goal of fostering awareness, destigmatization, and proactive healthcare practices on a national scale.
Social media campaigns
Social media campaigns for healthcare have emerged as powerful tools for disseminating critical information, fostering community engagement, and promoting public health initiatives. Leveraging the expansive reach of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, these campaigns employ a mix of informative content, visually compelling graphics, and interactive elements to connect with diverse audiences. Whether raising awareness about preventive measures, disseminating timely health updates, or encouraging healthy lifestyles, social media becomes a dynamic space for dialogue and education. The real-time nature of these campaigns enables swift responses to emerging health concerns, providing a dynamic and accessible channel for healthcare organizations to connect directly with the public and address their concerns.
